We've designed this course so you leave with:
✷A steady confidence that you can meet your own needs on the Earth - with or without the industrial systems around you.
✷Calm in the face of change and the unexpected. When the weather turns or a plan falls apart, you'll know how to pause, read the situation and respond with what you have.
✷You'll learn what comes first when it matters, make decisions in real conditions, and stay steady enough to trust yourself.
✷A felt sense of belonging in the landscape, knowing it as more than scenery.

More takeaways:
𐫰 A night warm and dry in a camp you built yourself
𐫰 The know-how to light a fire without matches
𐫰 A handful of edible and medicinal plants you can recognize, harvest ethically and prepare
𐫰 At least two knots for shelter, and plenty more
𐫰 A sit spot practice and the beginnings of bird language

This is for you if you've been watching other people do this and telling yourself you'll learn it someday. This is where it starts.
+ You want real skills underneath the gear
+ You feel called to guide others in nature connection and want your first real step
+ You're a parent or educator who wants to pass these skills on & keep them alive
+ You're a group of friends wanting to find out what you're capable of together.
No experience needed, and experienced folks will find plenty to deepen into. You'll need to be able to walk a few kilometers on uneven ground.
🔥 Imagine, it's Saturday night, and the October chill settles in. You light a fire without a match, and are eating wild plants you picked that afternoon. You lie into a thick bed you made from the forest. Your shelter keeps you warm and dry.
For most of human history, everyone knew how to do this. Today, most of us never learn. This weekend is where you start.
Over two nights and 25 hectares in the oaks and fields of Alentejo, your challenge is to meet the survival needs shared by every human who has ever lived, from our ancestors until today: stay warm, make fire, find & prepare wild food. You'll learn by doing with mentors beside you. Along the way we'll listen to birds, cook together, and circle around the evening fire with story and song.
Testimonial:
"We've learned a lot of different skills from making fire to harvesting and filtering water. Especially this sense of simplicity and wholeness that you can experience when you are living so closely with the elements. When you have the fire, the sky with stars and fresh air to breathe. Like letting go of the comforts of modern life, stepping into that discomfort and feeling that edge and everything that comes up with it. But at the same time feeling a very safe container in which to explore that edge and to go deeper and to be more self-reliant."
– Bart, Kambium•Earth program participant 2025
"When I met Josh at his deep nature connection course, I finally understood how smart is nature… I feel like nature chooses some incredible humans who have the ability to open the doors to step into that beautiful world that most people forget about or are detached from. Josh is one of these incredible mentors “hired” by the smart nature! Josh’s knowledge & skills let you experience a fantastic connection with nature but it’s his charisma, kindness and storytelling mastery that will let you make forever memories. I will always be grateful for Josh’s guidance and care for all of us in those woods. Every little step there with him was a major step in the direction of consciousness and elevation."
